Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

We are excited to have your child in Year 4 this year!

Below is some important information to help you and your child have a fantastic experience.

Staffing

  •     Purple Class: Mrs Lazenby (Class Teacher) and Mrs Hewitt (Class Teacher - Thursday)
  •     Teal Class: Mrs Bastiman (Class Teacher), Mrs Hewitt (Class Teacher - Friday), and Miss Cresswell (Teaching Assistant)

Important Information

PE

  •     Days: Our Indoor and Outdoor PE sessions will take place on Fridays.
  •     Kit: To keep warm and comfortable, please ensure your child comes to school in their outdoor kit, which includes:
    •      A yellow t-shirt
    •     Black or blue joggers
    •     A jumper or hoody
    •     Trainers
  •     Earrings: For safety, we kindly ask that children do not wear earrings on PE days. If they do, please provide plasters to cover them.

Reading and Homework

  •     Reading Expectation: We encourage your child to read at least 3 times per week.
  •     Reading Log: When you listen to your child read, please record this in their reading log, ensuring it is signed, dated, and includes the pages read. If they read additional books outside of their school reading book, feel free to add those too!
  •     Reading Books: It’s important for your child’s reading books to be in school every day. We will check their reading records every Friday, and children will earn house points and certificates from our reading reward scheme when they meet the expectations.
  •     Times Tables homework

Drinks Bottles

  •     Please make sure your child has a drink bottle filled with water for the classroom.
  •     We have regular drink breaks, so it’s essential for children to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  •     Size: We recommend a standard-sized bottle, as larger 5L bottles can be too heavy for children to carry around.
